A few weeks ago I had the honor of participating in a Career & Advice tech panel at Experts Live Europe | IT Conference on Microsoft technologies in Prague with with Emanuele Bartolesi , 👩🏻💻 Ela Mościcka, Kasia Nowicka, Samuel Erskine and offcourse Holly Lehman as host. This was a great experience and i think there where a lot of good insights. Let’s share a few tips:

A career in tech and a family; it’s a challenging but achievable combo. A supportive partner is the key to success. Be present when you’re present, both in your career and for your family. Make clear agreements.

Introverted? No Problem! 🤫

What was truly special was that nearly everyone on the panel admitted to being introverted and nervous before their session. Guess what? That doesn’t make you any less capable. It makes you human and relatable.

Continual Learning 📚

The tech industry is always evolving, which means your skillset should too. From online courses to attending webinars and workshops never stop learning. But most importantly, do what you love. Your passion will fuel your growth and make every challenge worthwhile.

Final Thoughts 🌟

A career in tech is a journey that is as thrilling as it is rewarding. It’s OK to be introverted, to say ‘no,’ and to find a balance between work and family. Don’t forget, it’s also OK to share your mistakes and learn from them.

De Kunst van “Nee” Zeggen We willen allemaal geweldige dingen bereiken, maar soms is “nee” zeggen het krachtigste wat je kunt doen. Door te focussen en durven ‘nee’ te zeggen, blijf je op het pad naar je doelen.

Balans tussen Technologie en Familie 👨👩👧👦 Een carrière in de technologie en een gezin; het is een uitdagende maar haalbare combinatie. Een ondersteunende partner is de sleutel tot succes. Wees aanwezig wanneer je aanwezig bent, zowel in je carrière als voor je gezin. Maak duidelijke afspraken.

Introvert? Geen Probleem! 🤫 Wat echt bijzonder was, is dat bijna iedereen op het panel toegaf introvert en nerveus te zijn voor hun sessie. Raad eens? Dat maakt je niet minder bekwaam. Het maakt je menselijk en benaderbaar.

Continu Leren 📚 De tech-industrie is altijd in beweging, wat betekent dat je vaardigheden dat ook moeten zijn. Van online cursussen tot het bijwonen van webinars en workshops; blijf altijd leren. Maar het allerbelangrijkste, doe wat je leuk vindt. Je passie zal je groei stimuleren en elke uitdaging de moeite waard maken.

Laatste Gedachten 🌟 Een carrière in de technologie is een reis die net zo opwindend als lonend is. Het is OK om introvert te zijn, om ‘nee’ te zeggen en om een balans te vinden tussen werk en gezin. Vergeet niet, het is ook OK om je fouten te delen en ervan te leren.
